Wrexham: Fancy A Flutter

For those wanting a break from the riveting arrows on the BBC at Frimley Green, Town’s trip to Wrexham tomorrow represents a golden opportunity to make a couple of quid from the comfort of your own armchair, or from the comfort of the Racecourse Ground.

Halifax have won just once on their travels in the league, toppling Dartford on December 14th, and if you fancy The Shaymen to do as much against a Wrexham side that was beaten 3-2 in the second game of the season, SkyBet have set the price at 5/2. The other outrights see Wrexham at 5/6 and the draw 11/4. Wrexham have a 7-2-3 record at home, netting 21 times whilst conceding 15.

There’s as much chance of The Shaymen walking away with all three points following a 1-0 win, as there is a 2-2 score draw and a Wrexham 3-1 victory. (All 12/1)

Town to be winning at half time is a generous 3/1, and to be two goals to the good at 45 minutes is priced up at 20s. Games involving either side have yielded 181 goals in 54 games, and discounting the result at The Shay earlier in the season gives an average of 3.3gpg. Delving even deeper into the goals per game, the Racecourse has seen 36 goals in 12 games, giving a round three gpg, and on their travels, Town fans have seen 42 goals in 13 encounters, and a 3.2gpg. CoMBine the two: 78 in 25, or 3.12gpg. To that end, over 2.5 goals is 8/13, and if you’re feeling particularly bold about both attacks, 3.5 is priced at 13/8.

If you fancy early joy for Town, you can get them at 11/8 to net first or 11/4 for either to score in the first 10 minutes. One of the specials, in fact, has Halifax to net in the 1st 10 minutes at 15/2, rather than hedging either side as mentioned in the last sentence.

For the particularly pessimistic, Wrexham or draw double chance is 1/4.
