FC Halifax kick off their preseason with a home tie against Stockport County this Saturday.

Jamie Fullarton’s side will not have played a fixture in over 10 weeks and with preseason training now underway the players are itching to get back out on the pitch.

This will be Fullarton’s first preseason with the players and what will be his own squad with departures and arrivals coming from the MBI Shay Stadium.

Stockport come on the back of a very strong season in the National League North having finished 5th and in the play offs where they lost to Chorley 1-0 in the qualifying round.

Jim Gannon has strengthened his squad with the arrivals of 6 fresh new faces at Edgeley Park, one being former Tranmere Rovers youngster Jake Kirby who has had experience in League One and Two, and who if he can stay injury free, will bring excitement to The Hatters.

Stockport although seen the arrival of six new players have seen a fair few leave this summer as already five players have exited, this including journeyman left back Stephen O’Halloran who only rejoined the club last season after leaving the Hatters two years earlier. He moves to FC United of Manchester.

Last time we met Stockport County was on the 28th January 2017 at the MBI Shay Stadium where both teams battled out a 0-0 draw.
