FC Halifax Town took on Solihull Moors in a Second-round replay after drawing 2-2 at home on Saturday and unfortunately lost in a tight 1-0 game.

A goal from Nathan Blissett on the rebound from Osbourne’s shot on goal sent them into the third round of the FA Trophy.

We caught up with James Ferry after the game about the team’s performance.

He said: “Disappointing with the result but with the performance, I don’t think you can perform better coming to an away stadium.”

Ferry then spoke about the fantastic start to the game that Town had and the chances they had to win the game.

“It’s exactly how we want to start the game, we had a few clear-cut chances both in the first half and the second half, I think if we take them it’s a different game and that’s maybe what let us down today.”

From playing in the middle of the park he described the game as “quite scrappy I thought with the ball in the air a lot with a lot of throw ins, but I thought definitely in the first half I thought we were definitely on top especially on the counter attack.”

From the Saturday game we asked him if they offered anything different he said that: “Well obviously they changed all their players, they put in their main starting 11 , we knew what they were going to do, to go long to their big front-men and we’d have to deal with the balls that fall.”

He said that “Played every game since I’ve been here and I’ve enjoyed it, I like playing at The Shay the atmosphere there so I have really enjoyed it.”
