FC Halifax Town drew 2-2 with Sheffield United Under-21s this afternoon as Town continued their 2023/24 preparations with a behind closed doors friendly at St George’s Park.

The Shaymen were able to test the United ‘keeper within the opening five minutes. Angelo Cappello’s shot took aim for the bottom right corner but the United number 1 was able to get down to make the save.

In the 16th minute, United opened the scoring when a cross from the left was tapped in to give them the lead.

Town had an instant reply as Cappello crossed the ball in. Tylor Golden drilled the ball into the back of the net to take Town level.

Just before the hour mark, United once again took the lead, with the United man able to slot the ball home past Sam Johnson.

With 11 minutes to play, Rob Harker went through on goal. He rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home.

Town are next in action in a behind closed door match against AFC Fylde on Saturday.
