Tony Barras

The defender originally joined Reading in 1999 on loan before making the move permanent the same year.

He would however find first team football difficult to come by and played just six games before moving on to Walsall.

Barras would not end up at The Shay until 2008, he would stay at the club for just one season, he played 20 times in the league during his one-year stay.

Steve Swales

Swales spent the majority of his career playing non league football. But he did have a three-year spell with Reading after joining the club in 1995 from Scarborough.

The defender played 41 times in the league for Reading, scoring one goal, before moving to Hull City in 1998.

After three years at Hull, Swales joined Town in 2001 and stayed at the club for one season, playing 20 matches and scoring one goal.

When he left Halifax he went on to play for Whitby Town, Pickering Town and Bridlington Town.

Grant Smith

Smith was on the books of Reading when he moved there from Wycombe in 1998 but he failed to make a single league appearance before transferring back up to Scotland and signing for Hearts.

He Joined Halifax Town in 2000 on loan from Sheffield United. He played 11 league games during his short time at the club.

In total he played his football in four different countries including, England, Scotland, Australia and Finland.
