The official website has caught up with new signing, Sanmi Odelusi, to ask him his thoughts on pre-season and what he expects from his first season in the Vanarama National League.
How has your off-season been so far?
“My off-season has been really good, it’s been a lot about family time and seeing my family down south in London.”
Are you looking forward to pre-season?
“Of course. There’s always that little buzz that every footballer gets when they hear that the new season is around the corner. I’m looking forward to meeting up with the boys tomorrow and getting down to work.”
How important do you think the pre-season games are, in terms of preparation for the new season?
“Everyone is different but I feel the pre-season games are really important because you get to learn your trade basically. You know what formation you’re going to play and tactics you’re going to use. You get to find out a lot more about your teammates, where they like to receive the ball and where they like to make their runs, so it’s very important.”
What do you expect from your first season in the Vanarama National League?
“I just want to enjoy playing football and hopefully FC Halifax Town will have a great season. I hope the fans enjoy the football that we play, that’s the main thing, that we put on smile on the faces of the fans.”
Vanarama National League fixtures are released on July 4th, who would you like to play against in the first match?
“I wouldn’t mind a London team or maybe even a Yorkshire derby, that’d be nice.”
