After two draws on the bounce, FC Halifax Town will be looking to get back to winning ways this upcoming Saturday when we take on Leyton Orient at the MBi Shay Stadium. It will be another very tough match for The Shaymen as Orient currently sit in 2nd place and are undefeated so far this season.

One of the reasons for Orient’s great start to the league campaign is their striker, Macauley Bonne. The Zimbabwe international currently has 4 goals this season; that’s almost a third of Orient’s total goals scored.

Bonne joined Leyton Orient in the summer of 2017 from Colchester United for an undisclosed fee. Although he’s still yet to score for the Zimbabwe national team, Bonne has had no difficulty finding the back of the net in the National League. He’s currently scored a total of 26 goals in 53 appearances for the London club; that’s almost a goal every two games.

Before joining Leyton Orient, Bonne had also previously played in the National League for Lincoln City. His parent club at the time, Colchester United, loaned the Zimbabwean out to The Imps where Bonne scored on his first start for the club in a 1-0 win against Tranmere Rovers. He was recalled by Colchester after only making 8 appearances for Lincoln City.

As we mentioned, Macauley Bonne has had no trouble finding the back of the net in the Vanarama National League for Leyton Orient, but we’re sure that The Shaymen’s stellar defence will be up to the task of stopping him.
