Kidderminster: An Excellent Opportunity

After our exploits in the FA Cup and West Riding County Cup, we are back in league action with the visit of Kidderminster Harriers to MBi Shay Stadium. The fixture won’t be easy as both sides look to bounce back up to the National League after making impressive starts. But what did Billy Heath have to say about the game, read on for the manager’s thoughts ahead of the game.

It’s obviously a tough game, a top of the table clash between two good sides – a six-pointer perhaps. We need to win these games against the sides around us, this is an excellent opportunity to do that.

On building on the Dagenham performance:

“If we can replicate the Dagenham performance we win. We didn’t let them play; we didn’t let them to get forward too much and it was the type of display we’ve been looking for. Our play with and without the ball was superb and the energy levels that day were great.”

On the fact that this is the first league game since a disappointing result against Brackley:

“We’ve just got to start another run [Town had won their previous seven in league and cup prior to the game] and I think we did against Dagenham. For 60 minutes against Brackley we played very well and then it was three individual mistakes which cost us really –we’ve proved that we can keep a clean sheet against a top side in the league above, there’s no reason we can’t do that now and keep momentum going because we are always looking to score.”

On how long it will be on players’ return from injuries:

“Matty Brown has gone for another op, which is a huge shame obviously. Matty Kosylo is back, he made it through 90 mins against Ossett unscathed so he is fully fit. Danny is still a couple of weeks away, but Scott, as we know, has a long-term injury and we won’t be seeing any of him before Christmas.”
