Rail operator, Grand Central, has extended its connection to the Club as a new sponsor of FC Halifax Town Foundation.

With deep-rooted links to the communities it serves, Grand Central will be working alongside the Foundation to develop projects that will further its reach and benefit the local community.

For the duration of the 2023/24 football league season Grand Central will become the lead sponsor of the following projects:

Grand Central Schools Half Time competition: a tournament to engage schools across Calderdale providing young Shaymen/women with the opportunity to play at Shay Stadium and provide half-time entertainment to supporters.

Grand Central Ball Boys/Girls: local junior teams will be invited to attend each home fixture across the season, the players would form a Guard of Honour as teams enter the pitch followed by ball boy/girl duties during the game.

Grand Central supported community days: four fixtures across the season will be allocated as community games with the intention of engaging the wider community and harder to reach groups.

Grand Central Community Manager, Hannah Bromage, said: “We’re delighted to be working with FC Halifax Town’s Foundation and extend our existing partnership with the Club. ‘The Shaymen’ are a great example of a club that supports and strengthens its local community, and we’re looking forward to helping them take that even further over the next 12 months.”

“As a major station on our Bradford to London route, Halifax is a key community that we are committed to supporting and through the football club, we have a fantastic opportunity to do that.”

On behalf of FC Halifax Town’s Foundation, Steve Nichol said “We are delighted Grand Central have extended their partnership and agreed to sponsor the Foundation, it huge help to make our projects sustainable.  The Foundation is becoming an exciting arm of the Football Club. Our aim is to combine the local passion for FC Halifax Town and the vehicle of football to make a positive difference to the community.  We anticipate the Grand Central initiatives will engage over 1,000 people across the 2023/24 season, for many this will be their first experience of a live football fixture or attending a FC Halifax Town game.”
