FC Halifax Town U21’s closed the gap to league leaders Harrogate Town with a comprehensive 6-1 rout over Goole AFC. The win means the Shaymen remain 2nd but are now just four points behind the table topping Sulphurites, who do have a game in hand however.

Jordan Sinnott and Danny Hone both featured, with the former getting his name on the scoresheet. The other five goals came courtesy of braces from Josh Debenham and Ousman Cham, as well as the solitary finish from Marko Basic. Leon Wood scored what turned out to be a consolation goal for the visitors.

The Under 21’s return to action on Monday when they face 3rd placed Tadcaster Albion.
