Tuesday night sees FC United of Manchester visit the MBi Shay Stadium in the Vanarama National League North following the original postponement due to FA Cup commitments for FC Halifax Town. The Shaymen head into the match in a good run of form following six consecutive victories in league and cup, the most recent coming with Saturday’s 4-1 away win at Boston United courtesy of doubles from Tom Denton and Alex Simmons. FC United’s form has been inconsistent at best having picked up 8 points in their last six, although an away win at Kidderminster on Saturday will give the Red Rebels reason for optimism come Tuesday.
The result was FC United’s second away win of the season, but The Shaymen’s home form is intimidating for all visitors. Town have won their last three home games and no side have conceded fewer goals on home soil –keeping four clean sheets in their six home games this season.
The game is FC United’s third consecutive away game following the aforementioned win at Kidderminster, a result which helped move Halifax into the playoffs –but the result came after a run of only one win in their previous seven games. Goals have not been a problem either for the side and with George Thomson already on 10 goals for the season in league and cup, the attacking midfielder will look to cause more problems come Tuesday.
