FC United: Need To Keep This Run Going

FC Halifax Town will go into their midweek clash against FC United on a run of six consecutive wins after their 4-1 win over Lincolnshire outfit Boston United on the weekend.

Braces from both Alex Simmons and Tom Denton were enough to deny the Pilgrims any points and Billy’s men have now only conceded twice in their last six games.

The manager and the squad will surely have their eyes set on extending their current run when they return to the Shay on Tuesday, having last played at home at the beginning of the month.

After the full time whistle, we spoke to Billy about his thoughts on the upcoming game…

“I think the balance in the team is better. It’s better than what it was six weeks ago. We’re more solid in the midfield area and more destructive in the midfield area. When you win games, confidence grows and we’re very confident at the moment.”

Billy expects this confidence to carry on into Tuesday night’s fixture…

“Hopefully there’s going to be a big crowd there. We’re confident every game we go into now and I always say to the boys that we need to keep the run going.

With next weekend’s clash against Brackley Town around the corner as well as the Shaymen’s FA Cup First Round game against National League’s Dagenham & Redbridge, the manager knows that his players should only be focused on the next game they play…

“I know it’s the oldest cliché but it’s the next game. You don’t focus on the game on Saturday, it’s literally just all about Tuesday and keeping the run going. “

And with Halifax now back in the playoff places, Mr Heath hopes this good form can continue and the wins can keep on coming…

“We’re in a little groove at the minute and it’s just about getting the wins in the column. We’ve gone up to 4th, that’s brilliant and we’re just trying to keep moving up the table”

FC Halifax Town’s next game is against FC United of Manchester on Tuesday night at 7:45pm at the MBi Shay Stadium.
