Good evening, and welcome to you all. The Christmas period is now well and truly behind us, but here at FCHT we still have plenty of “feasting” to look forward to.
As you will probably know by nowthe Supporters Club will of course be hosting a table at the FCHT annual Sporting Dinner on Friday 17th February. This always-enjoyable event will be held at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford (full details will undoubtedly appear elsewhere in this publication), and should you wish to join us, just speak to any Committee member.
You’ll just about have had time to digest your meal properly when you are cordially invited to the Shay on Saturday March 4th. This is the occasion of this season’s Supporters Club sponsored game, with Boston United the opposition. We usually have thirty or more participants enjoying the food and entertainment, and again if you would like to be involved in what is bound to be a decent day out, then just let us know.
One initiative which came to an end on New Years Day was the raffling of the Shay Lego model. The Supporters Club wish to place on record our sincere gratitude to the Neatby family for having the model constructed, and for their considerable time and effort in selling tickets at home matches since the start of the season. The raffle (and associated “guess the bricks”) raised around £700 for the Supporters Club. Congratulations go to raffle winner Nick Holland, and also Saul B, who had the nearest guess at the number of bricks used.
As ever, we have further fundraising plans in the pipeline, and we’ll be covering these in forthcoming programme notes.
See you soon, Kit.
