FC Halifax Town will host league leaders Chesterfield on Wednesday night in the Vanarama National League, 7.45pm kick-off.

Chesterfield may head to the Shay as Champions if Barnet fail to beat Eastleigh tonight or they will need a point from their game with Chris Millington’s side to wrap up the title.

The Shaymen sit 9th in the table just a point outside the play-offs and have picked up an impressive 6 wins out of the last 7 games. The only defeat in that run was a 2-0 loss at Bromley.

On Sunday Town won 2-0 at bottom of the table Oxford City in front of the TNT Sport cameras with first half goals from Rob Harker & Andrew Oluwabori.

Town’s home form has seen 7 wins, 7 draws and 4 defeats at the Shay this season

Chesterfield are unbeaten on home soil this season with a very impressive 17 wins and 3 draws. On the road they have picked up the most wins with 12, drawn 2 but lost 5 with 92 points on the board.

They drew 2-2 at Oldham at the weekend which came on the back of a 2-0 win over Oxford at home and a 4-1 home victory over AFC Fylde

Dorking were the last side to beat Chesterfield picking up a 4-1 win on the 2nd March, won 2-0 away at Barnet and lost 4-3 away at Bromley.

Will Grigg leads their goalscoring charts with 24 goals in 37 games, defender Tom Naylor has 11 and Armando Dobra has 10 goals.

Chesterfield won the return fixture 3-2 thanks to an injury time winner from Joe Quigley in a game which saw both sides go down to 10 men with Tom Naylor & Adam Senior both shown red cards
