FC Halifax Town lost 1-0 away at Aldershot Town with a goal 8 minutes into second half injury time from Lorent Tolaj.

Town boss Chris Millington made two changes with Luke Summerfield and Rob Harker in the starting XI for the game.

Town started brightly, a Luke Summerfield freekick was headed over by Rob Harker in the first minute.

The home side wanted a penalty in the 24th minute, Tolaj went down under a challenge from Sam Johnson, but nothing given.

A good move from the home side, the ball was played into Ryan Glover, he cut in on the left and got past Tylor Golden but dragged his shot wide of the target.

Josh Stokes’ cross hit Golden in the box, the home players appealed for a penalty for handball but again northing given by referee Sam Mulhall.

Millenic Alli unleashed a shot from distance which beat the goalkeeper but not the bar and went out for a goal kick on 23 minutes.

Stokes had an effort at goal which deflected into the hands of Johnson five minutes later.

The ball was played into Tolaj behind the Town defence and Sam Johnson did well to narrow the angle and saved from the Aldershot man.

Ryan Glover cut inside and shot with Jordan Keane headed over the bar for a home corner. The ball into the box was headed by Tyler Frost which had to be saved low down by Johnson.

The first substitution of the game Max Wright on Rob Harker on 57 minutes as Chris Millington looked for his side to find the first goal of the game and he was released by Millenic Alli after a good run but the offside flag was up against Wright.

A foul by Golden by the by-line gave the Shots a freekick. Ollie Harfield’s freekick was well defended.

Johnson had to save as Shots as Stokes got in behind with what looked to be a foul, but the Town goalkeeper was on hand to keep the score at 0-0

Summerfield corner was into a lovely area, but Aldershot cleared on the break, they had the opportunity to shoot but Town defended well and out for a goal kick.

Town had a great opportunity themselves to take the lead, Alli in the box took on Harries but his shot was wide of the target.

Town released Galvin down the left but with strong defending, then Alli had an effort saved by Van Strappershoef low down as Town put the pressure on looking for a winner.

The fourth official signalled eight minutes of injury time to be played and it looked like it was going to end goalless, but Town were denied anything from the game with a goal in that 8th minute, Mnoga into the box and his ball across was turned home by Lorent Tolaj for the only goal of the game.

Town are back in action on Saturday with the home game against Solihull Moors, 3pm kick-off.
