The Shaymen came from two goals down to defeat King’s Lynn Town 4-2 in front of the BT Sport cameras. The Gaffer Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV after the game.

Wild began by giving his thoughts on the match; “We didn’t start well again, it’s been a factor of our last two games – we got punished on Tuesday, so luckily we didn’t get punished today. We didn’t get suited quickly enough to their diamond, and that hurt us, but when we got some tactical information onto them, we were then on the front foot; scored plenty of goals and looked a threat.”

The Gaffer added on what he specifically changed to help the side tweak the game when 2-0 down, “I told the players to press King’s Lynn high and then they found a way to use that to their advantage with balls over the top, so instead I said let’s sit back to get a couple of things tactically right and after that we were full value to the win – that’s just football sometimes, it’s a tactical game.”

Wild spoke about the second half domination, saying; “We dominated the second half for sure, it was far better than the first half, we were a lot better out of possession as well in the second half and I think that helped us get that win.”

Unfortunately, Jack Earing had to be forced off the pitch with a suspected injury, Wild gave the latest on this; “Jack said he felt his hamstring, and whenever someone says that you have to pull them off straight away – that is what we did and we will assess Jack over the coming days.”

Wild ended the interview by speaking about the lucky ‘omen’ the Shaymen have of performing well and winning games when the BT Sports cameras are switched on and broadcasting Halifax on TV.

“We have had some exciting games on TV this season, with two sixes and a five, and the lads certainly enjoy playing in front of the BT cameras, and we enjoy showing everyone what we are capable of.”
