FC Halifax Town drew 0-0 away at Woking yesterday picking up a second point on our travels this season following the same result at Boreham Wood last weekend.

Pete Wild told Shaymen TV after the game, “I thought we had lots of endeavour and we worked hard. First half, we were a yard of it and did not pick up enough second balls. We addressed that at halftime, and we were better in the second half. However, we did not trouble the keeper enough, we look sharp until the final third.

Town were boosted by the return of Jake Hyde from injury who joined the Shaymen from Woking before the season started.

Wild said, “Jake has only done 1 day’s training, it is great for him to be back. Our play up to the final third has been good, we have lacked quality at times in the final third. The more training sessions he takes part in and gets back to fitness, he will show the quality of why we brought him to the Football Club”

Town had chances to win the game but defensively it was a third clean sheet from the opening five games for the Shaymen defence which pleased the manager.

He said, “Apart from one effort which we have cleared off the line, we have limited their chances to breakaway efforts. It is credit to our organisation, to be tough to play against which is pleasing to see.

There were four changes to the starting XI from the midweek draw at home to Yeovil Town,

“One thing I have got this year, I feel I can rotate where I need to. We have strength in depth, and I want to keep everyone engaged”, said Wild

Next week attention turns to the FA Cup and FC Halifax Town travel to the North East to take on South Shields in the World’s Oldest cup competition.

“We need to rest up and recuperate this week in what will be a tough game in the FA Cup next week against South Shields”, concluded Wild
