FC Halifax Town fell to just their second defeat of the season at the hands of Yeovil Town. Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV after the game to give his thoughts, the nature of the game, wasted chances, and Notts County away.
His thoughts on the gameβ¦
He said: βI thought it was a weary performance. We looked tired, we had put a lot of effort into the last five weeks. That showed today. They had a lot more energy than us. They got around us and amongst us. We were second best today which is disappointing. It doesnβt detract from the good five weeks that we have had.β
On how scrappy it wasβ¦
He said: βI think the officials have made it like that. It was disappointing. But Yeovil have come, theyβve done their homework, and theyβve slowed the game down. They have more savvy than us on the day. Itβs something for this young group to learn from and something to get better at.β
On wasted chancesβ¦
He said: βWe wasted our chances today. Their keeper has pulled off a couple of good saves as well. It just wasnβt our day in front of goal. I place a lot of emphasis on dominating both boxes. I donβt think we can look each other in the eye and say we dominated both boxes.β
On Notts County awayβ¦
He said: β100 percent weβll bounce back. Weβll get back on the horse. Weβll work hard all week to make sure weβre ready for Notts County and weβll make today a one off. Itβll be a similar test. I played both sides last year. I know what Neal Ardleyβs teams bring. Theyβve got some good players there. Iβm sure theyβll get a run going soon, so weβve got to be ready.β
