New loan signing Shawn McCoulsky spoke to Shaymen TV about his move to the club, and yesterday’s 2-0 defeat away at Yeovil.

McCoulsky told Shaymen TV about how his side of the deal came about.

“I went on loan to Bromley earlier in the season, just for a month, and came back to Forest Green. When I came back, I got injured, so thing was that I had to come out again and get some game time. The Forest Green manager pulled me and said, “Halifax are interested in you and they want to get you some game time.” I thought it was the best thing for me going forward to come back from injury as well.”

The striker said he’s found it easy to settle into the group.

“From day one, even before I trained, there’s a house up there I stay in, there’s a few lads in there so I met them before I trained. They all welcomed me really well, and I feel at home already.”

When asked what Shaymen fans could expect from his style of play, McCoulsky explained;

“I’m a fast player, I love to get in the box, I love to score goals, obviously. I just like to give defences problems.”

Reflecting on the game against Yeovil itself, McCoulsky said;

“Obviously, it’s the not the result we wanted. We didn’t play to our game plan as much towards the end of the game, which caused us to go 2-0 down.”

Nevertheless, the new man is confident that the team can bounce back in the FA Trophy in Saturday and is looking forward to playing at The Shay.

“Any cup run’s good obviously, to play in and get to the final, so we’re gonna give it our all in that game and hopefully we will beat Wrexham next week- and to make my debut at The Shay next week, I can’t wait to do that, obviously to make my home debut in front of the fans, and hopefully I’ll pay them back with a goal.”
