FC Halifax Town midfielder Cameron King spoke to James Watson post-match after The Shaymen were victorious against Chesterfield at the Proact Stadium.
Cameron reflected on the teams performance;
“Yeah it was massive especially away from home, which is never easy, the boys overall will be disappointed with the performance. We did some good things in the first half, whether it was tired legs but overall, we weren’t up to our usual but saying that we were 3-0 up. At half time the gaffer wasn’t happy, so it was one of them nights that you have to take the positives which is the three points and look forward to Saturday.”
King mentioned the targets he sets before the season;
“I do, I like to get double figures especially in my position because I am playing higher than last year. So, I definitely need to add goals into the equation and assists are something I pride myself on. As long as I can add goals and help the team that’s all that matters.”
The Shaymen brought 481 supporters to the Proact Stadium and Cameron talked about the influence they had on the game;
“Its massive and it feels like a home game. They make a lot of noise and we needed them today and it was like having a twelfth man. All we can do is keep playing well and they will keep coming. We are going to need the fans to keep supporting, so thankful for their support.”
King played down the fact that Town had gone to the top of the table;
“We don’t like looking at tables especially at this stage of the season. The gaffer doesn’t want us to look at them but sometimes you can’t help yourself. Its very early on and all we can do is take it game by game and get as many points as possible and reassess after the new year and obviously see where we are at that stage.”
The attacking midfielder looked forward to the home time on Saturday against Yeovil;
“Obviously another tough team, they have come down a division and they are a top team, but we love playing at The Shay. We will have a good crowd cheering us on so as long as we keep doing what we are doing and get three points that’s all that matters.”
