FC Halifax Town were held to a 2-2 draw after being pulled back twice by Bromley.

Both sides struggled to create too many clear chances as they shared a point. With Halifax just edging the game.

Town won an early corner after good work from Matty Kosylo. Corner taken by James Berrett, but Bromley cleared to Cameron King who won another corner. Again, taken by Berrett and Bromley did well to clear. Bromley looked to counter but the shot was weak, and Johnson made an easy save

A low cross from Bromley skimmed off the head of Joe Skarz before Josh Staunton headed behind for a corner. Taken by Frankie Sutherland but Johnson claimed well before looking long towards Rodney. It bounced over everyone and went through to David Gregory.

It took 25 minutes for Halifax to take the lead as they capitalised on a Gregory mistake. A Berrett corner went short to Kosylo. It went back to Berrett who swung in a cross. It looked to be an easy catch for Gregory, but he failed to hold onto the ball. Staunton got down well to head it over the line from close range.

Just before half time and Bromley won a corner. Taken by Sutherland, Johnson didn’t get a clean punch, but Halifax put it behind for another corner. Again, Sutherland swung it in and found Roger Johnson, but his header went narrowly wide.

Moments into the second half and it was pulled back to Hooper. His shot was dangerous, and Nathan Clarke got down to block and it spun over the bar. The corner was taken by Sutherland, but it went over everyone and out for a goal kick.

Bromley started the better of the two sides and found the equaliser nine minutes in. Luke Coulson put a speculative cross in, and George Porter attempted to head it in. It went over Porter, but it was enough to get past Johnson to make it 1-1.

Kosylo was the first player to go into the book after he reacted to a foul on a Bromley man. On the 65th minute both sides made their first substitution as Ryan Gondoh came on for Manny Duku. For Bromley, Sutherland was replaced by Frankie Raymond.

Halifax thought they had taken the lead as Rodney chipped Gregory from close range. Only to be denied by the offside flag. The Shaymen did regain the lead on the 76th minute. Rodney burst into the box and took a touch. It looked like it got away from him, but he did well to put it past the onrushing Gregory.

The lead lasted just seven minutes. Out of nowhere Bromley equalised through Richard Brindley. A shot was fired from distance and it found its way into the bottom corner.

Bromley thought they had won it as Hooper fired a shot towards goal. Johnson pulled off an excellent save as the shot looked destined for the top corner. Deep into injury time and Town thought they’d won. Substitute Gondoh picked up the ball on the edge of the box. Despite taking a deflection, Gregory did well to hold the shot and keep the scores level.
