From the commencement of the 2018/19 season, Halifax Town Supporters’ Club are very pleased to announce a business link with the ‘Old Post Office’ public house and hotel on Winding Road, Halifax (www.theoldpostofficehalifax.co.uk) and with your support, should result in financial benefits for the Supporters’ Club and in-turn FC Halifax Town.

We can confirm that the Football Club are now supportive of this new initiative and have now met in person with the new owners of the ‘Old Post Office’. The new relationship was rightly criticised in the first instance, as the ‘Pub’ had previously hosted a couple of EDL marches, following Police requests.  The Football Club have now met with the new pub owners and have been given guaranteed assurances that these marches will not be hosted.

In essence, the ‘Old Post Office’ with its excellent facilities and wide range of attractively priced drinks are looking to attract as many Town supporters as possible to their establishment both pre and post match and will offer, for example :-

. 10% back to Halifax Town Supporters Club on all ‘Shaymen’s Gold’ sold.

. Personalised Shaymen Loyalty Cards (Buy 7 pints, get 8th free).

. Pie, peas and a pint at just £6.00 before and after games.

. Free ‘Blue Shots’ for everyone in a Shaymen shirt before and after the game.

More ideas are being worked on including displays of old photos/pictures plus flags and banners, etc. Pub staff will also be wearing Shaymen shirts.

A ‘launch’ party will be arranged towards the end of September, the Supporters’ Club hope that many Town fans will be there to get a ‘taster’ of what will be available throughout the season. A barbecue will be provided at the ‘launch’ as will karaoke opportunities and a DJ, not forgetting a raffle offering the chance to win the new Town shirt.

Any queries/suggestions please speak to any Committee Member or contact Dave Crossley (Supporters Club Vice Chair) via mobile 07709 819917. Alternatively, simply e-mail supportersclub@fchalifaxtown.com.

The Supporters’ Club look forward to your positive support of this initiative

Up the Shaymen!
