FC Halifax Town were 3-1 victors away at Coalville Town this afternoon in a match arranged following Scott McManus’ move to the Ravens.

McManus, spent 7 years with the Shaymen including two promotions and he scored the only goal at Wembley as the Shaymen beat Grimsby Town to win the FA Trophy in 2016.

Jamie Fullarton brought his new look squad to Leicestershire and McManus captained his new side as both sides look forward to their respective league seasons shortly.

It was the home side who took the lead through Tolani Omotola. The frontman capitalised on a backpass and slotted his effort past Shaun Rowley into the bottom corner of the goal.

However it didn’t take long for the Shaymen to equalise. Dayle Southwell did really well down the left hand side, his cross was onto the head of trialist 19 and he looped his header over the goalkeeper into the top corner from close range.

Southwell was on the scoresheet on 56 minutes himself following a ball forward from Ryan Sellars, he cut in and fired into the bottom corner to put Jamie Fullarton’s side ahead.

Matty Kosylo on as a substitute finished the game off with a tap in following a neat touch to take him around the keeper following a good move to make it a comfortable 3-1 victory.

Town now have 7 days to wait until the final pre-season game with the visit of Vanarama National North side Boston United to the MBi Shay Stadium, 3pm kick-off on Saturday.
