Midfielder Jake Hibbs felt that FC Halifax Town were unfortunate not to take all three points after they twice fought from two goals behind to earn a 3-3 draw with Eastleigh.
Substitute Danny Batty scored in the final minute to rescue a draw for Halifax after theyβd fallen 2-0 and 3-1 behind earlier in the game.
Hibbs, who played the full 90 minutes on his return to the side, told FCHT Online that Town were unlucky not to earn their first league victory since September.
βI think weβre slightly disappointed that we didnβt come away with the win,β said Hibbs.
βWe started great in the first 20 (minutes), but we give away two soft goals really. But, the bottle the lads showed to dig in, down to ten men, was great.β
βWhen Sam (Johnson) got sent off, it looked a bit bleak, being 3-1 down but like I said, the lads have got a lot of heart and I think we were on top for a lot of the second-half really.β
The Shaymen were two goals down after the opening quarter of the match, despite a fine start with Hibbs twice coming close to scoring.
βThat was the worst thing as were just getting into a good rhythm and having chances,β Hibbs said.
βAnd the way the goals came was the disappointing thing (because) on set-pieces weβre usually very strong. To give away two, obviously I think the first one was a foul, but to give away two is disappointing and it knocked the stuffing out of us.
βLike I say, the way we came back, Scott Mac (McManus) scored the penalty and to go in (to half-time) at 2-1 rather than 2-0 made a big difference to the game.β
Hibbs was making his first league appearance since December 2016 and, after a long spell out of the side, said he hopes his performance has forced his way back into the team.
βIt felt good just to run around really! But, Iβm delighted to get back on the pitch and last the full 90 (minutes), which I was happy about because I was tiring towards the end.
βThe fans have always been great with me here. So, hopefully I can repay the favour by playing as well as I can.β
βBut, hopefully I can work my way back into the team again.β
