FC Halifax Town are delighted to confirm the signing of Max Wright on loan from League Two side Harrogate Town.
The winger began his career with Grimsby Town, coming through the youth ranks before signing his first professional contract with the club in 2015. Wright then joined Sutton Coldfield Town in the Northern Premier League Premier Division on loan from January 2017 until the end of that season. In August 2017, Wright signed a new contract with Grimsby before being sent out on loan to Scarborough Athletic, helping The Seadogs to a 2nd placed finish and promotion from the Northern Premier League Division One North as he netted 15 times in 44 appearances.
At the end of the 2017/18 campaign, Wright signed a new two year deal with Grimsby and made his professional debut for the club in August 2018 as a second half substitute against Rochdale in the EFL Cup. In September 2018, the winger joined Boston United on loan in the National League North, however was recalled in April 2019 and featured against Notts County, making his league debut for the club. Last season, Wright was part of the Grimsby squad who secured promotion back to the Football League through the playoffs, and the winger featured in both fixtures against the Shaymen that season, providing the assist for the equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Blundell Park. At the end of the 2021/22 season, Wright was released by Grimsby and signed for Harrogate Town after impressing whilst on trial in pre-season. However, an ankle injury suffered in their pre-season friendly against Barnsley has meant Wright has struggled for game time, making just three appearances for the club, all coming as a second half substitute.
