FC Halifax Town are delighted to confirm the signing of forward Luca Thomas on loan from Championship side Leeds United until the end of the season.
Capable of playing across the front three, Thomas has spent most his career in the Leeds academy. He became the first player to score in ten consecutive Under 18 Premier League games in April 2022 as he also won goal of the season in the league and Leeds under 18 player’s player of the year.
Following these strong performances, Thomas was awarded his first professional contract with Leeds in July 2022. During the 2022/23 season, Thomas was once again Leeds under 18 top scorer and winner of their goal of the season. Thomas featured for both the under 18s and under 21s last season and once again put in strong performances, winning their goal of the season award again.
He then signed a new deal running until the end of the 2024/25 season.
In October of this season, the forward signed on loan with fellow National League side York City. initially just for one month, this was extended in November until January when he returned to Leeds.
