Pen Pic: King was Billy Heath’s captain at North Ferriby United and a key player in their FA Trophy and play-off successes. The central midfielder made the move to the Shay in the summer for an undisclosed fee, with his box-to-box, energetic style likely to win him more plaudits among Halifax fans.
In North Ferriby’s 2015 trophy win, captain King scored from the penalty spot both inside 90 minutes and in the shootout. He started his career at Rotherham United and has also played for Matlock Town and Altrincham. The Nottinghamshire born player scored 19 goals from midfield for North Ferriby last season and was subsequently named in the Vanarama National League North Team of the Year.
