FC Halifax Town will travel to North Yorkshire on Saturday in the Enterprise National League to take on York City at the LNER Stadium, 3pm kick-off.
The Shaymen will be looking to get back to winning ways after Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat to Gateshead at home against the league’s bottom side.
The result came on the back of a 1-0 victory over Truro City at the Shay last weekend and Adam Lakeland’s side still sit in the play-off positions but Southend have four games in hand over his side and are two points behind.
On the road this season, Town have won 6, drawn 2 and lost 9, in their last game away they drew 1-1 at Brackley with two late penalties awarded in the game. Previously they have lost 3-2 at Aldershot despite being 2-0 up with three goals in five minutes seeing the Shots take all 3 points
York sit 2nd in the table just a point behind leaders Rochdale and have 11 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats on home soil this season
They have won their last six league games in a row, their last three at home and are unbeaten in the last 21 games, picking up an impressive 47 points from the last 51 on offer.
The Minstermen have also scored in each of their last 24 league games with Solihull Moors on the 20th September the last team to stop them from scoring in a game. Southend are the only other side to have achieved that at Roots Hall.
Ollie Pearce (27), Alex Newby (11) and Josh Stones (10) lead their goalscoring charts and they have the best goal difference in the league which stands at 53.
The two sides met at the Shay back in October when the points were shared. Will Harris scored early for the Shaymen but Pearce’s 85th minute goal saw the game finish 1-1
