FC Halifax Town midfielder Matty Kosylo believes that it was what had been worked on in training, which brought the win against Woking.
FC Halifax Town were 3-1 winners down South with Kosylo picking up a brace, one from the spot and one scorcher of an effort.
“Yeah it was good, I think the team put into action what the gaffer had been working on in training and in the end it has paid off.” Matty Kosylo told ShaymenTV.
Kosylo was happy with the way the game panned out and was also complimentary to new boy Conor Thomson’s debut goal.
“We looked solid throughout, yeah they scored a scruffy goal but we regrouped, went and got the second and then the third by Connor, which was the cherry on the cake.” He said.
The midfielder explained to ShaymenTV what he does before a penalty to make sure he is not distracted like the Woking goalkeeper Nick Baxter tried to do today.
“I don’t pay attention to what is going on around me, I look at the floor and just step up to take the penalty, I have learnt over the years.” Kosylo said.
The midfielder was the scorer of an absolutely brilliant goal in the second half; he revealed how he did it and what was in his thinking.
“The second one was just sort of relaxed last minute because he has pressed me and then stepped off me and luckily I caught it really sweet, it’s nice but the three points is good as well.” He commented
The Shaymen have now gone three games unbeaten for the first time since September, Kosylo believes that it was a “crisis of confidence” which took them on a poor run of form.
“I think it was a crisis of confidence, and we have worked on things, which is what you do when you’re in that position you want to keep solid at the back and then you have the platform to build on and go forward and nick a goal.” He said.
“We got the win against Hartlepool, we then got a hard fought draw against Eastleigh and then there was today which shows we are making progression.” The midfielder added.
Kosylo revealed that there was fear of dropping into the relegation zone at some point and knows that it is hard to go on a winning run when you are down.
“There is always a chance that you will drop into the relegation zone. Solihull started winning at one point so we were aware of that.
“Chester picked up a win; it is tough to put a run together when you are down there.” He said.
