FC Halifax Town’s Cameron King admitted he was eager to start in the 2-0 loss to Woking.

King came off the bench when he replaced Jack Redshaw in the 60th minute.

“I didn’t start so I was disappointed with myself not being in the team selection but that’s football.” Said the attacking midfielder.

Town went one nil down in the 15th minute when Kretzschmar converted a penalty following a Nathan Clarke challenge. Jake Hyde then doubled the visitors lead just before half time with a smart bottom corner finish.

King commented on the collective performance from The Shaymen.

“Usually you can carry a couple of players during a game but the whole team wasn’t at it today at all, so hopefully we can just put this behind us and go again next week.”

In the second half Halifax had most of the possession but failed to create a clear-cut chance.

“When you’ve got a two goal lead you’re going to put men behind the ball so it’s always going to be hard to break down, they were frustrating to play against and they took their time and saw the game out.” King stated.

Halifax now move onto the Ebbsfleet United game on Saturday which will be live on BT Sport, King looked ahead to the game.

“We had a good result against them earlier in the season, they’re fighting for their lives, so it’ll be a tough game.” Admitted King.
