FC Halifax Town will host Woking FC this Saturday with the Shaymen looking to reignite their form from the start of the season.

However, if they are looking to do so, they’ll have to keep a close eye to Woking goal scorer Joe Ward.  He has been in fine form this season banging 6 goals, all in different games.

The Woking forward, who is described as a pacy winger, joined the Cards this summer and has played 17 games in the league so far.

Although only 22 the winger boasts some incredible experience having signed for Lincoln on loan in January last season. Ward was in the side that went on that momentous FA Cup run and was eventually knocked out by Premier League giants, Arsenal. He also scored three FA Trophy goals for the Imps.

Ward has also played for other football league clubs as well. Having started his career at Chelmsford and playing over 40 games for them, he went on to sign for Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2015.

With a record of scoring a goal every 274 minutes this season and having not scored since Dover Athletic 3 games ago, the fast winger is looking for his seventh goal of the season to come quickly. Halifax defenders will have to be at their very best to stop him on Saturday.

Having played ten games on the right wing and eight on the left this season, Ward can be a menace on either flank. He’ll looking to create that vital goal scoring opportunity, wherever he plays.

His former club, Lincoln, have described Ward as skillful and direct. Making him a difficult player to play against at any level of football.

If you want to see how FC Halifax Town get on against Joe Ward and the rest of Woking FC, head down to the MBi Shay Stadium this Saturday for a 3pm kick-off
