New FC Halifax Town midfielder Conor Thomson believes that the team need just a couple more wins to secure their National League status for the next campaign.

Thomson was the third goal scorer in a 3-1 win over Woking in Surrey to cap off a brilliant performance from the Shaymen!

“Now we have got these three points, we just need a couple more wins in order to secure our place in the league for next season.” Conor Thomson told ShaymenTV.

The former Carlisle United midfielder knows that it was a good show that they put on against Woking and it is what they want every week.

“We got the three points what we needed and the lads performed well and that’s what we want every week.” Thomson said.

Thomson, who scored a goal on his debut with a header, revealed that he wanted to come on and make an impact.

“It was what I wanted, I knew I was coming on and I said I wanted to either create something or score a goal and that is what I’ve done.” The midfielder said.

Thomson told Shaymen TV that he enjoyed watching the game before coming on and added that all of this week’s new signings had good games.

“It was good to watch, because I have not watched the lads before” he said.

“We all wanted to make an impact today. Niall was good at the back and Raheem was good when he come on too.” Thomson added.

Thomson revealed that he was “buzzing” to get a goal to help the lads and hopes for more to come.

“I wanted to come in straight away, and obviously I’ve got that goal which I am buzzing about. I was not thinking about it but the chance come and I’ve taken it. Hopefully there’s many more to help the lads.” The midfielder said.

“We got the three points what we needed and the lads performed well and that’s what we want every week.” He added.
