After FC Halifax Town’s 3-2 win over Weymouth, defender Tom Bradbury spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts on the game.

“It’s a big three points,” Bradbury said. “We didn’t play too well, and we looked a bit off the pace. There were a few bad touches and poor passes. We said in the changing rooms that we were a bit down and Danny Williams had to make the point that we had just got three points. It moves us up the league and puts us in a good position. We’re happy in the dressing room but we know we have got to improve if we want to beat the better teams in this league.”

Bradbury restored the Shaymen’s league when he headed home to make it 2-1 in the 31st minute.

“I’ve had to tell people it was mine,” Bradbury told Shaymen TV. “It is nice to get another one. Obviously, that puts me on three now so hopefully I can get a couple more and that will represent a good return for the season.”

Town looked comfortable going into the closing stages of the game before Jake McCarthy netted Weymouth’s second to cause a nervy end to the game.

“I think it was pretty last minute,” Bradbury said. “If we had drawn that game it would have been hell for leather. We are happy with the result. You would have taken a 5-4, 4-3, anything just to get the three points. We have done that, and we move on now.”

Town travel to Altrincham on Saturday, and Bradbury is hoping for an improved performance and a good result.

“They played well when they came here,” Bradbury told Shaymen TV. “They have got some good attacking players and they score a lot of goals. It will be a fun affair, but if we want to get in these play-offs then we have to beat Altrincham. Looking forward to it, obviously we will rest up, train later in the week, and we will go again.”
