Following FC Halifax Town’s 3-2 win over Weymouth, debutant Micah Obiero spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts on the game.

“It was a good game,” Obiero said. “I was delighted to come on as well. I don’t think the lads played as well as I have seen them play, but we got three points which is the most important thing, especially at the back end of the season. It is a good win.”

Town got off to a flying start with Jamie Allen winning a penalty inside 30 seconds. Jake Hyde stepped up and saw his effort saved before tucking away the rebound.

“It was a nice penalty,” Obiero told Shaymen TV. “A fast start from us so to get the lead early on is really good. We managed to protect it as well by bagging a few more goals later on. As long as we keep creating chances, and we could’ve scored more, including mine, we will do well.”

Obiero came on in the 69th minute to make his debut having signed on loan from Huddersfield Town.

“It was good to come on,” Obiero said. “It was good to make my debut, especially in this game. I have been training with the lads last week and this week, so it was good to finally come on and play for Halifax. Could have had a goal. It took a bit of a bobble before I hit it, but on another day that goes in.”

Town make the trip to Altrincham on Saturday and will be hoping for another three points, with Obiero hopeful of getting some more minutes.

“It’s another tough game,” Obiero told Shaymen TV. “We just have to keep working hard in training. Keep doing what the boys have been doing all season and trust in the process. We need to prepare right and trust in our own ability to get the win.”
