Town stepped into 5th place in the Skrill Premier with a 1-0 victory at Welling on Saturday, we got the thoughts of powerful midfielder Lois Maynard after securing back-to-back away wins.

“Great yeah it has come at the right time of the season to be honest with you as we are pushing for the play-offs now is a good time to do it.”

“Any clean sheet away or at home is perfect you know the defence and the goalkeeper did their job well, it was a great display.”

Maynard has cemented his midfield partnership with Matty Pearson and Paul Marshall and has said that he is enjoying playing alongside them.

“I have been enjoying it yeah, it has been working well and we have been picking up results, with Matty just in front of us breaking up play and stopping them coming at us, me and Marshy yeah it is working well.”

Maynard is keeping his feet firmly on the ground after seeing the Shaymen rise into the play-off positions.

“Just as we keep saying every week, just take every game as it comes, it was good to get an away with here and take every game as it comes”

Blaine Hudson was given his marching orders by the referee after hauling down Lee Gregory in the box. We asked Lois what he thought of the sending off and the resulting Gregory goal.

“It has got a red card, he is last man. You can always count on Greggers to put it in.”

Gregory is now only one goal behind Skrill Premier top goal scorer Reece Gray, Maynard praised the goal grabber.

“As long as he gets provided the production he is going to put them away, at the moment he has scored 24 goals, just trying to get into that golden boot.”

Next up for Town is Alfreton at The Shay in front of the BT Sport cameras on the 24th March, Maynard is focused on no complacency going into the game.

“Just got to take it as it comes, we shouldn’t feel any pressure just treat it like any other home game and if we keep playing like the way we have been the three points could be there.”
