VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE- MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Luke Garrard – Boreham Wood
It’s been another month of unpredictability in the Vanarama National League, with many questions still unanswered at both ends of the table.
Luke Garrard was the youngest manager in the top five divisions when appointed to the hot seat at Meadow Park in 2015, but slowly he has moulded a squad which is very easy on the eye.
An excellent win in the Emirates FA Cup against Blackpool means the club now face another challenging tie in the Second Round at Coventry City, but they were also outstanding in November in the League. Amongst those performances were wins against Maidstone United and Woking.
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE- PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Danny Rowe – AFC Fylde
You cannot keep the irrepressible Danny Rowe away from trophies. He has several previous monthly awards on his mantlepiece from his days helping the Coasters win the Vanarama National League North.
Many wondered and even questioned if he could ‘cut the mustard’ in the more competitive Vanarama National League. Eleven league goals before the end of November suggests the striker has brought his goalscoring exploits with him into the fifth tier.
Always one for the big occasion, in rising to the top of the goal scoring charts, his strike to defeat leaders Dover Athletic showed immense determination.
He collects his award just a few hours before he steps out to face Wigan Athletic in the Emirates FA Cup in front of BBC TV cameras.

Mark Bower – Bradford Park Avenue
It has been a close call again in November to decide where the manager award is off to. This clearly shows the competitiveness of the Vanarama National League North and Mark has seen his charges remain unbeaten in the past month, recording three straight wins, lifting the West Yorkshire outfit from 15th and mid table up into the Play Off positions.
With lots of experience gained in the division at near neighbours Guiseley, it has taken time to remodel The Avenue but the signs are there that under Mark they may again make another mark in the football world.
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH – PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Jack Redshaw – Salford City
Salford City have taken a massive 7 point lead at the top of the Vanarama National League North and they are unlikely to want to give that up easily.
At times they may have the odd set back but generally their all-round application put those behind them. Scoring goals will be the key to maintaining that successful challenge to move into the fifth tier and Jack Redhsaw is a player they must keep fit and firing on all cylinders.
His four goal haul in the space of 36 second-half minutes against North Ferriby United certainly caught the headlines outside of Manchester.
The ex-Morecambe and Blackpool player has now hit double figures for the season and more are expected to come his way.
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH – MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Marc McGregor – Weston Super Mare
During the summer the Seagulls of Weston Super Mare rang the changes with their Manager and brought in ex-player Marc McGregor. The 39-year-old is yet another young and exciting prospect who after ending his playing career settled into coaching and assistant roles before the Somerset club came calling.
Whilst he would readily admit it did not get off to the best of starts, he has kept to his beliefs and this is now paying dividends.
The club has gone unbeaten in the Vanarama National League South during the month with notable wins away against Chelmsford City and Braintree Town, plus a bonus win in the Buildbase FA Trophy also away to Welling United last Saturday.
Not only is the club climbing the table but Marc’s personal stock is rising likewise.
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH – PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Joe Healy – Welling United
Midfielder Joe Healey is no stranger when it comes to scoring from long-range. After scoring several important goals throughout November for a Welling United side in improving form, the 30-year-old found the target from the halfway line to seal a point for Jamie Coyle’s side at top half of the table rivals Hemel Hempstead Town in a 2-2 draw.
With plenty of Vanarama National League experience under his belt already in his career, Healy would love to help guide Welling back into the fifth tier at the second attempt.
