Ahead of FC Halifax Town’s FA Cup clash we look at some of the news around the National League.

Manager Hakan Hayrettin has been given the Braintree Town job on a permanent basis after impressing as caretaker boss. Hayrettin took over from Bradley Quinton who left in October, and Hayrettin has led the Iron to seven points from their last four games.

Eastleigh have finally appointed their new manager and it has been given to caretaker boss Ben Strevens. He had been in charge for the last month and results like 1-1 draws with both Salford City and Leyton Orient convinced the board that he was right man for the job.

Six National League clubs have been nominated for the National Game Community Award. Wrexham, Hartlepool, Eastbourne Borough, Curzon Ashton, Boston United, and Altrincham have been nominated for the award that sees clubs honoured for their outstanding efforts in the local area.
