FC Halifax Town’s under 19’s men played two games earlier on Wednesday. Jack Garsides’ side played against Gateshead in a heated and even game that saw Halifax come out short and lose 1-0 on home ground. Gateshead took the lead in the 55th minute where the ball was crossed into the box and their striker was there to tap it in from 6 yards out.

Town’s coach Garside spoke after the game as he says, ” The team played really well to be honest, we dominated the game, but we missed four huge opportunities which if you do not take you do not win games.” Halifax Town had the most chances and possession; however they did not manage to clinically finish their chances in the final third.

He continued, “We keep building on all the positives from the Gateshead game, but we know as a group executing our chances is critical for the team’s success in the next few weeks. Focusing on finish the attack in this week’s preparation will also be a major focus”

Town face Solihull Moors under 19’s away next on the 2nd of October, 14:00PM kick-off.

Halifax Town Under 19’s B managed by Nick instead played Stockport County’s under 19’s in a five-goals thriller where the game saw Halifax come out defeated 3-2 with Nicholson and Munro on the scoresheet for Halifax.

Nick also came out to speak after the game as he said, “Stockport were the better team in the first half as we did not really get going, we were much better in the second half and after Callum’s (Nicholson) goal we were chasing the game till Stockport caught us on the break to make it 3-1″

They will have a chance to come back from defeat as they take on Basford United on Wednesday 2nd October, 14:00PM
