Halifax were beaten 3-2 away at Farsley Celtic this week.
Town were out to a flying start, fresh off the back of two wins they looked like they would make it a third. In the opening period of the game the young Shaymen would enjoy a splendour of chances, which would be capitalised on first by Rico and the second by Lewis. However, according to Coach Jack Garside “They should’ve had three or four in the first half.”
Not to use a cliché, but this truly was a game of two halves as the home side’s tactical change at half time to go long and direct completely stunned Halifax. This would result in two controversial goals, one being an incredibly harsh penalty call and the second of which appeared to be offside, despite the complaints the appeals fell on deaf ears. And to top off the switch in momentum Farsley managed to grab a late winner, leaving Town in despair, however Garside commented “it was a good lesson for the players long term.”
