FC Halifax Town can confirm the loan signing of goalkeeper True Grant, from Championship side Stoke City.
Originally coming through the youth setup at Derby County, Grant made the switch to Manchester City at the age of 12. The shot-stopper went on to become a regular for the Elite Development Squad and under 19s in Premier League 2 and the UEFA Youth League. Grant was included on the bench for the first team’s UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Red Star in 2023.
In July 2024, John McGrath brought Grant on loan to Buxton. The ‘keeper made 41 appearances in the National League North, keeping 10 clean sheets and conceding just 52 in the league. The ‘keeper, who was capped by England between under 15 and 19 level, made the move to Stoke City in the summer of 2025. The shot-stopper featured for the under 21 squad in Premier League Two and the Premier League Cup last campaign.
