FC Halifax Town are delighted to confirm the signing of centre back Tom Wilson after leaving Belper Town.
Wilson came through the youth ranks at Sheffield United before joining Hallam FC following his release. The defender made 11 appearances in the Northern Counties East League before signing for Stalybridge Celtic in June 2020. Whilst with the Celts, Wilson spent time on loan with Belper before signing permanently in August 2021. In his first full season with The Nailers, Wilson made 35 appearances scoring six times as Belper finished 5th in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands, winning promotion to the Northern Premier League Premier Division via the playoffs. Last season, Wilson continued to be a crucial player for Belper, making 46 appearances and scoring five in a more disappointing campaign for the club as Belper finished bottom of the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Wilson was also named the Supporters’ Young Player of the Season in his final season for Belper.
