This year has been extremely challenging for the NHS and due to increased restrictions sports clubs are unable to do their festive visit, as traditionally we would have done.
More so than ever we need to keep the magic of Christmas alive in Calderdale; for patients who find themselves in hospital over the Christmas period and for the NHS staff who go above and beyond 365 days each year.
Our players and management will be recording virtual messages for NHS staff and the FC Halifax Town Foundation have partnered the NHS Trust of Calderdale to support the Great Gift Appeal.
We have created an Amazon Wish list, which contains toys and gifts carefully selected by the NHS team of Play Therapists to ensure the NHS Trust of Calderdale have sufficient gifts to give during Christmas.
Let’s spread the message across Calderdale and get our community behind this great initiative adding some extra sparkle to young patients who unfortunately find themselves in hospital over the Christmas period.
We are inviting our fans, local businesses, and other community organisations to get involved in the appeal. Selecting or making a donation through our Amazon Wish list is really easy, and once you place your orders the items will be delivered directly to the hospital.
First Team Manager, Pete Wild said: “This is a great initiative that our Football Club and Foundation are supporting. We would be incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity of our fans, local businesses, or other community organisations in donating gifts for this year’s appeal. This year has been particularly challenging for many and by donating a gift to those who find themselves in hospital may help to make their Christmas a little more special.”
