As part of a pre-season training camp at St George’s Park, Hertha Berlin have very kindly invited FC Halifax Town to provide behind closed doors opposition for their squad as part of ‘game day’ on Saturday 16 July.
The German Bundesliga side are traveling a party of around 32 first team squad players to the UK as part of their pre-season preparations and invited FC Halifax Town to provide full match opposition for their ‘B’ squad at 11.00am on the Saturday, prior to their full first team playing Derby County at Pride Park later in the day. As the Shaymen had been in discussion with Salford City for a friendly fixture on the same day, arrangements have been made to share the opportunity in a mini ‘round robin’ training schedule.
We are very grateful to the officials and staff of Hertha Berlin for the opportunity of seeing their players train at close quarters as well as playing at the iconic St George’s Park. Thanks also go to Salford City for helping us make the alternative arrangements work.
