After picking up his first goal for the club during a terrific performance, we spoke to centre back Daniel Hone for his thoughts on the game.

“[On the performance] Very good, we started really well, had a patchy ten minutes and then stepped on the gas a little bit but once we got the first the floodlights opened, so really pleased”

“Obviously it’s always nice to get a goal. It was pretty crucial at that time, we had missed a couple of chances and that set us on our way. It was nice personally, but it’s not about me, it’s about the team and we did really well today”

“I’m happier with the clean sheet [on the preference of his goal or a clean sheet], I always am happy with a clean sheet over goals; it’s what I am paid to do as a centre back. So I am happier with the clean sheet.”

“[When asked if anyone’s performance stood out] Everyone was great, Drenchy to Dents, Dents was unlucky not to score today. Even the lads who came on, I thought we were different class and everyone showed quality.”

“We just got to carry on the same way we are playing now and hopefully we will get the result [against Fylde].”
