FC Halifax Town won 1-0 away from home against Sutton United on Tuesday night. Josh McDonald spoke to Shaymen TV after his first start from his loan spell at Whitley Bay.
βIts been a long, hard recovery but Iβve spent plenty of time in the gym. I know I needed games and obviously we were doing well and couldnβt get my way. Its done me the world of good and the gaffer has given me an opportunity and Iβm fortunate for that and hopefully Iβll retain my place.β
Having lost to fellow title challengers Bromley on Saturday Josh mentioned the fact that they were in the same position on Saturday going 0-0 into the break. βThe gaffer told us at half time that he doesnβt want a repeat of the weekend.β
The right winger said it was a βGreat Resultβ especially with the fact that last weekendβs rivals few 2-2 with Stockport. Although he said this, he was critical of the first half performance.β We didnβt get on it as much as we wanted. Sometimes itβs a battle but we defended really well, and we kicked a goal.β
The Shaymen have a home tie against Torquay at the weekend where they look to make it back to back wins. MacDonald said that they βare on a good runβ and βwe should put in as big of a performance as today at the weekend.β
