FC Halifax Town won 1-0 away from home against Sutton United on Tuesday night. Josh McDonald spoke to Shaymen TV after his first start from his loan spell at Whitley Bay.
โIts been a long, hard recovery but Iโve spent plenty of time in the gym. I know I needed games and obviously we were doing well and couldnโt get my way. Its done me the world of good and the gaffer has given me an opportunity and Iโm fortunate for that and hopefully Iโll retain my place.โ
Having lost to fellow title challengers Bromley on Saturday Josh mentioned the fact that they were in the same position on Saturday going 0-0 into the break. โThe gaffer told us at half time that he doesnโt want a repeat of the weekend.โ
The right winger said it was a โGreat Resultโ especially with the fact that last weekendโs rivals few 2-2 with Stockport. Although he said this, he was critical of the first half performance.โ We didnโt get on it as much as we wanted. Sometimes itโs a battle but we defended really well, and we kicked a goal.โ
The Shaymen have a home tie against Torquay at the weekend where they look to make it back to back wins. MacDonald said that they โare on a good runโ and โwe should put in as big of a performance as today at the weekend.โ
