FC Halifax Town entertain Sutton United at the MBi Shay Stadium on Saturday following a 1-1 draw with Boreham Wood in midweek

We caught up with Sanmi Odelusi for his views

After conceding an early goal are you pleased with how you as a team reacted?

It wasn’t a good start but the boys rallied together and managed to come away with a point. I think we deserved more to be fair, we fought really hard today and created a lot of chances as well. Its a positive to take, we were the better team at the end of the day.

You think they just came here to get the draw and play negative football?

That’s what it looked like to a certain degree but teams will come here because we are really good at home and come here thinking they’ll be happy to get a point, we feel like we can get three points whoever we play at home.

Scoring just before half time and dominating the game, do you feel half time came at the wrong time?

Yeah, if we had an extra 10 minutes we could’ve had five past them!!! No maybe five’s too much but probably with a lead.

Do you think they were overly physical at the back, yourself along with McLeod and Southwell looked like there was some grappling between their centre backs?

That’s part and parcel of football. You have strong lads in this league, but you have just got to be smarter than them, you’ve got to figure how to be smarter than the stronger boys or technical players need figure out how to work around that.

Start of the festive period now busy time for all football teams, are you looking forward to it?

Of course I do, that’s what every footballer looks forward to Christmas time!! This is our job, main thing is get three points and make the club do as well as possible.

Finally Sutton at the weekend, what do you expect to come up against on Saturday?

From what happened last time we played them, they do try and play but obviously we’re at home and more than capable of winning the three points.
