FC Halifax Town are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Strength & Conditioning Intern to join our performance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in football, working closely with players and staff to support physical performance, injury prevention, and long-term athletic development.

About the Role

As S&C Intern, you’ll support the delivery of strength and conditioning programmes across the club, working under the guidance of our medical and backroom staff. You’ll get hands-on exposure to a professional football environment, including matchday operations, gym-based sessions, and pitch-based conditioning work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of gym-based strength and conditioning sessions
  • Support pitch-based warm-ups, conditioning drills, and recovery protocols
  • Help monitor player load, GPS data, and wellness metrics
  • Assist with pre activation, rehabilitation and return-to- play programmes alongside medical staff
  • Support matchday preparation and recovery duties
  • Maintain accurate records of training data and player development
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of gym and training equipment

What We’re Looking Forβ€’ Some prior experience in strength and conditioning

(placement, internship, or club-based)

  • Experience working within a professional or semi- professional sporting environment is desirable
  • A genuine passion for football and a willingness to learn what it takes to work as an S&C coach at this level
  • Relevant qualifications or currently studying towards a degree in Sports Science, S&C, or a related field (or working towards accreditation e.g. UKSCA)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with players and staff
  • A proactive, hardworking attitude and willingness to put in the hours required in a football environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays as required
