FC Halifax Town under-19’s progressed to the next round of the League Cup after a dramatic penalties victory away to Stockport County.
A double from Ousman Cham and further strikes from Eliel Anku and Hakkinen Anani earned Halifax a 4-4 draw with Stockport, forcing the game into penalties.
It was Town who prevailed in the shootout, winning 3-2 as goalkeeper Jack Atkinson made three saves from the spot kicks.
Midfielders Liam Healey, Jack Knight and Ellis Wade converted from 12 yards to book their side’s place in the next stage of the competition.
