Full back Tyrell Warren was a first-half introduction to Halifax’s 3-1 win over Southend, replacing the injured Jay Benn. After the match, Warren spoke to Shaymen TV.ย

The former Manchester United academy player began his interview by summarising the game. “It was a good performance from the team,” he stated. “We were very solid for 90 minutes against what is a good Southend United.”

As mentioned, Warren was a first-half sub into the game; “The first five minutes are always tough but you ease yourself into the game,” Warren said. “Then after that, the boys are just pushing and pushing you on, so you don’t want to let them down. I thought I did well when I came on, but then in the second half, I upped my performance even more.”

Tyrell signed for Halifax in the summer on a short-term deal after he spent time at Boston United, Salford City, Radcliffe, and of course Man United – where he played alongside Marcus Rashford and Angel Gomes. Warren was a wanted man, as he had received plaudits from both Martin Tyler and Gary Neville. But, he is a Shayman, and enjoying his time at the club.

“I am loving it here at Halifax,” Tyrell explained. “The boys introduced me here wonderfully, and I like all the boys and all the staff. It’s been really nice to meet the fans in the last few games too.”

Warren ended the interview by looking ahead to Boreham Wood on Tuesday night; “We need to take the momentum from this game onto that one,” he said. “It’s a tough place to go is Boreham Wood, and especially when they have had some good results already this season.”
