Kieran Green spoke to ShaymenTV after the 2-0 defeat to South Shields which saw Town exit the Emirates FA Cup.
Green began the interview by giving his thoughts on the game; “All the lads are disappointed, we were not good enough and for that we can only apologise for that and address it on Monday morning – then make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
The midfielder added on his performance; “It doesn’t matter about individual performances when collectively we were as poor as that. I did make some errors and when you have a few of the individual errors I made then it festers throughout the team. I have got a lot to address personally and we have a lot to address as a team on Monday. “
As for the game itself, there was 300 South Shield fans in attendance which made the game a hostile one to play in for the Shaymen. However, Green was quick to respond to whether that affected the result of the game.
“It’s all on us, we can’t use the crowd as an excuse. As I said, we have just got to take a few days and not beat ourselves up about it and go again,” stated Kieran.
Green is one of many new signings that have entered the Shay this Summer, and he had added on how he had settled in so far.
“I feel like I’ve settled in well, the lads have been very welcoming and there’s been a few of us that have signed here. I think we’ve gelled well together and got a good group.”
Kieran ended the interview by his thoughts on the next game for Town – at home against Wealdstone next Saturday.
“We need to address today’s game and go into Saturday be positive and carry on the good form we’ve shown in the league.”
